35th ANNIVERSARY / PROPERTY PURCHASE

Millisle Baptist Church was constituted on 3rd December 1976 with 15 members. We have known much of the Lord’s blessing in the years that have followed. This has been evident in very practical ways as well as spiritual. In the early 1980’s, the former Millisle National School building was purchased and after extensive renovation and extension was opened as Millisle Baptist Church on 15th June 1985.
A few years later, a further extension programme was completed with the cost completely paid in full by August 1992.
Since then we have purchased a manse in Ashley Park which was later upgraded to a detached house in Kinnegar Rocks.

On Friday 25th November, the Church took ownership of the former Kingfisher site adjacent to our Church building. We believe this to be the Lord’s leading and provision for our future work together. It is significant that this should come as we celebrate our 35th Anniversary.
On Sunday 4th December, special offerings at both services will be donated, in their entirety, to our Property Fund. We look to the Lord to lay it on the hearts of His people to provide for this project. We praise Him for all that is past and trust Him for all that is to come.

GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH
A year ago we contributed towards the cost of a new building for Grace Baptist Church in Turnu Magurele, Romania.  This was done through Pastor David McFarland’s 2 Hearts Ministries.  David has been in touch again to inform us that he has just discovered that, in a country where the winter temperatures fall far below ours,  the church was built without a heating system to save funds.  The Pastor said “they did not like to ask when we had done so much for them.”
The church has raised some funds but their ability to contribute is very limited.  They will need around £2,500 - £3,000 to install a mains gas heating system.
Our Office Bearers’ have agreed that our offering on Sunday 19th December, will be given to this very worthy cause.

Our offerings on Sunday 19th & 26th December were given to 2 Hearts Ministries to help provide a heating system in Grace Baptist Church, Turnu Magurele, Romania.  Thank you for the amount received of £678.60

PRAISE & TESTIMONY
We will not be holding a Watch Night service this year.  However, our evening service on Sunday 2nd January, 2011 will be a Praise & Testimony Service as we recall God’s faithfulness to us throughout another year and entrust the New Year to Him.

A Baptismal Service will take place on Sunday 21st November at 7pm.
Anyone who is considering baptism and/or Church membership, please speak to the Pastor or one of the elders no later than 7th November.

CAR PARK
We appreciate that car parking space is limited.  However, please try not to park on the slope down from the main door to the main gates  and also ensure that the side door is not blocked by a vehicle – this door opens outwards as a fire exit.

Caring For Life, more commonly known as CFL, is founded on very clear Christian beliefs. People often question what that actually means and how it affects the way we work.     Caring For Life is a registered Christian charity (registration no. 519138) with the aim of sharing the love of Jesus with homeless or vulnerable people by providing accommodation, ongoing support and friendship, enabling people to develop dignity and self-respect. Our motto is simple, "Sharing the Love of Jesus."   We believe that all men and women are made in the image of God, and that leads us to treat people with dignity and respect. Most of those we support have been afforded little respect in the past. Our principles of care spring from the example of Jesus Christ and the way He reached out to those who needed help
